K. Alexander Blanton received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL.). He is currently completing a Master of Music Degree in Composition at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he studies composition with W. Thomas McKenney and trumpet with Iskander Akhmadullin. In addition to his duties as a composer, Mr. Blanton is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in music theory. Active as both a composer and a performer in the Columbia area, Alex plays principal trumpet in the University Philharmonic and the Ninth Street Philharmonic. |
