A little bit about myself
I started writing music when I was a kid, improvising on the piano so as to avoid practicing, started writing it down when I was 19 at the encouragement of my mom and then kept writing. I've been influenced by many people along the way, but mostly have attempted kept to myself in trying to develop my 'style'. I'm now looking to draw more on other sources but still write music that expresses the sacredness of god but also what it is to be human. It's not all that deep, but it's what I am usually trying to get at.
I have studied with many different people along the way, including James Mobberley, Paul Rudy and Zhou Long in Kansas City. I live in Philadelphia with my husband, Kurt, and faithful bassett hound, Geech. I am currently in the DMA program for Composition at Temple University and am studying with the absolutely fantastic, Maurice Wright. www.mauricewright.org
