Dystopian Suite

Dystopian Suite.pdf - excerpt

Written during a two week hiatus from working on my Master’s thesis, this eclectic group of short pieces pays homage to the little known piano works of Arthur Honegger written during his Les Six days in 1920s Paris. Each movement shares Honegger’s love of “quasi-dodecaphony” and the third movement contains a Berg-like “hidden message” to loved ones in the melody. It was premiered by the composer at the University of Oklahoma in 2005. Performer: James Geiger Venue: University of Oklahoma Duration: 9'18"
