The shifting keys and lyrical moods, evocative of later Debussy, showed that the transition from saxophone to flutes probably added to the already wistful aspects of this dreamlike piece. Award-winning composer, ADRIENNE ALBERT, has had her compositions performed throughout the United States, Europe, Thailand, South Africa, and Australia. Long a collaborator with other composers as a singer/performer (Igor Stravinsky, Leonard Bernstein, Gunther Schuller, and Phillip Glass to name a few), Ms. Albert began composing her own music in the 1990s. Her catalog of works includes orchestral, chamber, choral and vocal music. A recipient of numerous commissions and grants, Albert was recently awarded a 2006 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and The American Composers Forum for the Continental Harmony Project in Alaska. Other grants and awards include several Meet the Composer and ASCAP awards. Albert is a past-President of the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity, a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of The American Composers Forum, SAG, AFTRA, The American Music Center, The International Alliance for Women In Music, Chamber Music America, The Dominant Club, NACUSA and ASCAP Her music is published by Kenter Canyon Music (ASCAP), Robert Wendel Music and can also be ordered through Theodore Front Publications.
