Just recently formed, the student chapter of SCI at Shepherd University hosts monthly Listening Forums in which a score of any particular time period or musical style is observed through a compositional, performable, and educational standpoint. For example, our premier Forum featured Eric Whitacre's "Ghost Train." This attracted vocalists (for Whitacre's known works) as well as instrumentalists (because it is a band piece). Future Forums will include presentations on Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Vientos y Tangos, and Shakespeare Songs with various guest speakers.
