Michael Lanci (B. 1984) is an active composer, performer and teacher residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. Michael’s music has been performed throughout North America, Canada and Europe, and has worked with a variety of ensembles, including Klangpar2, the Decho Ensemble, Duo d’Entre-Deux, the Harp duo Beyond Pluck, the Erie Trio, the Azalea Quartet, the Buffalo Chamber Players and the Fredonia Saxophone and Trombone Ensembles. From 2012 through 2014, Michael was an instructor at the State University if New York at Fredonia, teaching courses Music Theory and Musicianship. Michael holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from SUNY Albany, where he also studied composition with Max Lifchitz and a Master of Music degree in Composition and Theory from SUNY Fredonia, where he studied with Rob Deemer and Karl Boelter. Michael is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in Music Composition at the College – Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he is studying with Michael Fiday and teaching courses in Music Theory and Musicianship as a graduate assistant with the theory department.
