Kevin Alexander Wilson was born in Parma, Ohio but primarily lived in Streetsboro, Ohio. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Music Theory/Composition and a second Masters degree in Ethnomusicology at Kent State University with Richard Devore, Frank Wiley and Kazadi wa Mukuna respectively. Kevin recently graduated from Central Michigan University with a Masters of Music (’14). While at CMU, he studied composition under David Gillingham and Jay Batzner, and Brazilian music with Alexandra Mascolo-David. He completed his undergraduate research at the University of Akron in 2012, receiving his B. Music. At Akron, he studied composition under Daniel McCarthy and Nikola Resanovic. Notably, Kevin has received performances with Grammy Award winning Cleveland Chamber Symphony, directed by Steven Smith, the University of Akron Symphony Orchestra under Dr. Guy V. Bordo, and more recently, by Ayça Çetin, a Turkish flutist in Boston (Boston Conservatory) and Kavazabava.
