Frej Wedlund is a 24-year old composer from Östersund, Sweden, whose current work is largely concerned with silent tension, quiet reflection and intimacy. His body of works mainly consists of orchestral and chamber music, but he also composes for electroacoustic mediums. He is currently studying composition with Per Mårtensson at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm. He has previously studied with Pär Lindgren and Martin Schultz and participated in masterclasses with Johannes Schöllhorn, Mathias Steinauer, Rolf Martinsson and Anders Flodin. His music has been performed by among others Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Swedish Wind Symphony, Norrbotten NEO and KMH Symphony Orchestra at venues such as de Geer hall, Norrköping, Palladium, Malmö, Kulturhuset City Theatre Stockholm, FORUM, Stockholm, Fylkingen and the Royal College of Music, Stockholm.
