SCI Performers Recording Series no. 4
Stentorian Consort: Music for Trombones and Piano
Postmark Deadline April 29, 2006
Composers who are full or student members of the Society of Composers, Inc., including senior and joint members, may submit music for up to four trombones (3 tenors and 1 bass) and piano to be performed on several concerts and recorded on a compact disk released by Capstone Records.
Scores of any length and style may be submitted, including pieces that utilize pre-recorded electronics or extended techniques. Preference will be given to works that use three or four trombones. There is no limitation as to the number of scores submitted. Premieres are welcome. Composers included on past Performers Recording Series CDs are not eligible. The music will be selected, prepared, performed and recorded by the Stentorian Consort (Dave Begnoche, Barney McCollum, Brent Phillips and Jonathan Whitaker, trombones) with optional piano (Elvia Puccinelli). The music will be digitally recorded, edited and mastered, with professional graphics and design.
Composers involved with the project will be required to pay a fee of $125 per minute to cover the cost of the production. All composers will be notified by June 17, 2006.
Anonymous Submission: send two copies of each score without your name or identifying marks appearing anywhere – please include an accurate timing in the score. A recording, if available, should be identified by the composition title only, with one recording per work. In a blank sealed envelope provide your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, statement of SCI membership and affiliation, composition title(s), and short biography.
Please include a separate self-addressed stamped postcard for notification of receipt of the submission and SASE for the return of all materials. Post all submission materials and inquiries by April 29, 2006 to:
