Travel:
Little
Rock Airport is 70 miles from Arkadelphia, a straight-shot southwest on
I-30. It is still unclear as to
whether we will be able to provide a shuttle service between the airport and
Arkadelphia. We will know by the
beginning of December. Car rental
may be the option.
If
traveling by car on I-30 from the east take Exit 78 and turn left on to Hwy
67. Continue south for c.4
miles. Turn right on Huddleston
and left on 12th Street.
After 1 block you will be at the Fine Arts Building. Parking is on the north side.
If
traveling by car on I-30 from the west take Exit 73 and turn right; this is
Pine Street. Follow Pine for c.2
miles through town. Turn left on
14th Street for 6 short blocks; turn right on Evans for 2
blocks. You will dead end into the
Fine Arts Building. Parking is on
the north side (to your left on 12th street).
Lodging:
Most of the hotels are at the north exit of I-30 to Arkadelphia. We will provide shuttle service. There are three hotels in Arkadelphia, each within a 5-8 minute walk of the Fine Arts building:

A restaurant guide and map
will be provided at the conference registration table.
A few other items:
You
may pick up your submission package and materials during the conference.
We
will schedule rehearsals with the guest composers and performers as time and
logistics allow.
There
will be a table in the lobby selling compact discs from several independent
contemporary music labels. For
example, I have asked Richard Brooks from Capstone Records to supply us with
multiple copies of the past 20-30 releases, plus all of the SCI Series. If you have music released on other
labels, or simply wish to sell or give away self-produced recordings, please
let me know. This is a
not-for-profit effort and all funds will be given to the composer or label.
Mid-February is damp and cool: bring rain gear.
